Masks now required in FCBDD buildings

Due to the increased number of COVID cases and the impact of the Omicron coronavirus variant in our community, we are asking all staff and visitors to wear a mask in buildings operated by the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities. This request applies to home visits as well.

The Omicron variant is highly contagious and spreads quickly. People who are not vaccinated are at much greater risk of serious illness.

The FCBDD mask requirement applies to those who have received vaccines and to those who are not vaccinated; however, it does not apply to people who have a medical exemption. Staff and visitors are asked to wear masks when in common areas, while in groups, and in offices where appropriate social distancing cannot be maintained.

We strongly request that people get the COVID vaccine for their own safety and the safety of others. According to public health officials, all of the approved vaccines offer excellent protection.

Masks will be available at the entrance to all buildings.
