The Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities is pleased to offer a grant program to assist public and private organizations and businesses with the cost of installing universal changing tables.

Thousands of Franklin County residents and visitors to the Columbus area have disabilities that make it impossible for them to use the toilets in standard, or even ADA-compliant, restrooms. They need access to adult-sized changing tables to ensure a safe, dignified and hygienic experience.

Adult-sized, or universal, changing tables can be used by people of all ages, from infants to the elderly. Public venues that provide this option help to make our community inclusive and accessible for everyone.

• Applicants must be public or private entities in Franklin County
• Grants are to be used for facilities that are open to the public
• Requests for funding up to $15,000 are encouraged, based on the estimated project cost

Applications will be accepted until Sept. 15, 2024, or until all funding is granted. Grant awards are to be expended on changing-table installation projects no later than Dec. 31, 2024.
