DUTIES/RESPONSIBILIES:

Provides direct implementation, consultation and monitoring of occupational therapy intervention for students with moderate, severe and profound developmental disabilities across domains and environments as related to IEP goals/objectives and other school programs; provides therapeutic intervention and support in a wide variety of community-based settings which may require using public transportation or driving a county vehicle. Provides therapy in the swimming pool, if appropriate.

Completes assessments of students to obtain current levels of functioning and need to assist in the development of the IEP goals and related school programming; assessments may include but are not limited to, daily living skills, mobility (wheelchair), posture, reflexes and fine/gross motor; assessments may be completed in school, swimming pool and community environment

Evaluates need for and fabricates orthotic devices; fits and instructs in use of prostheses; develops and maintains occupational therapy equipment

Assists the Financial Manager of Administrative and Support Services with primary and related authorization processes for Home and Community Based Services Waiver and related services for individuals with complex service needs.; Manages the Cost Projection Tool and Payment Authorization of Waiver Services electronic interface with the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) on behalf of Individuals that require Prior Authorization due to their complex service needs; Serves as a primary point of contact for Home and Community Based Services Waiver providers with complex authorization and billing issues; and resolves those issues within the authority of the county board
