We are the Franklin County Flyers Special Olympics Team. This booklet is to give you an overview of our program, an introduction to staff, and to answer general questions you may have about Special Olympics. Please take a few minutes now to read through this and keep it for future reference. Please call the office, 614.342.5989, any time you have a question or need any information. Our role is to help each athlete succeed in Special Olympics and therefore in life. I hope through your participation in Special Olympics, you will find new challenges, set and reach goals, discover more of your talents, and continue to achieve success.

The mission of Special Olympics Ohio and Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and  participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and  friendship with their other Special  Olympians, the community and their families.

Special Olympics is a free organization.

Families and friends of our Special Olympians are an important part of our success. Families can be as active as they choose. Some ways a family or friend can contribute are coaching a team, working one day events, helping with fundraisers, being a photographer or just coming to cheer us on. For more information on getting involved, please contact us at the office!
